1. Heating of lubricating oil tank - the main purpose
This is the most essential application of flange heating tubes in centrifugal compressors. One or more flange type electric heaters are usually pre installed inside the lubricating oil tank to preheat and heat the lubricating oil before driving.
Key technical requirements:
Before starting, the oil temperature needs to be raised to 35-45 ℃ to meet the operating requirements of the unit
When the ambient temperature is below 16 ℃, the heating system must be activated
The main engine can be started when the oil temperature reaches above 27 ℃
The external circulation heating can only be stopped after the unit has been running for at least half an hour
The power configuration is generally estimated based on a fuel tank capacity of 0.5 kW/m ³, with large units commonly ranging from 10 to 20 kW
The flange heating tubeadopts immersion installation, with multiple U-shaped heating tubes welded to the flange plate and fixed to the side wall or bottom of the fuel tank with flange bolts. This structure has uniform heating, high thermal efficiency, and reliable sealing, making it suitable for long-term continuous operation.
2. Preheating of process gas
In certain process scenarios, the gas transported by centrifugal compressors needs to be maintained at a certain temperature to prevent condensation or precipitation. A flange type pipeline heater can be connected in series with the intake pipeline like a valve to preheat the compressed gas, with a temperature range from room temperature to several hundred degrees Celsius.
3. Insulation of sealing oil system
The shaft sealing system of centrifugal compressors usually uses sealing oil, and the viscosity of the sealing oil is also sensitive to temperature. In low-temperature environments, sealed oil pipelines require heat tracing and insulation, and flange heating pipes or their derived heating elements can be used to maintain the temperature of the sealed oil tank.
4. Winter antifreeze and shutdown insulation
Compressor stations in northern winter or high-altitude regions are prone to lubricant solidification and oil blockage during shutdown. The flange heating tube, combined with the temperature control system, can maintain the basic temperature of the fuel tank (usually between 5-15 ℃) in the shutdown state, ensuring that it can be started at any time.
